Roaming and International Calls

ROAMING IN THE EUROPEAN UNION

CALLS, SMS AND MMS

Within the European Union and the European Economic Area (EU countries plus Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Moldova and Ukraine), calls, SMS and MMS to Poland and local ones are billed according to the rules applicable in Poland for calls and messages to other networks.

DATA TRANSMISSION

Within the package, the monthly data roaming limit in the EU is:

Pakiet 10
2
GB
10 PLN / 30 dni
Pakiet 25
8,59
GB
25 PLN / 30 dni
Pakiet 40
13,75
GB
40 PLN / 30 dni
Pakiet 65
22,34
GB
65 PLN / 30 dni

The limit renews at the beginning of each calendar month. The EU data limit reduces the GB value within the package.

After exceeding the monthly EU roaming data limit, charges apply according to the price list.

To protect customers from unexpected expenses, a data roaming spend limit of €50 applies to each of your phone numbers. If you have available funds for additional services, you will use data transmission until the limit is reached.

You will receive an SMS notification when:

  • – you use 80% of the limit,
  • – the bill approaches 100% of the limit (€50).

After reaching the limit, we will block data transmission, while other services (calls, SMS) will remain available.

You can renew the spend limit by contacting us. We will renew the limit once for another €50 or disable the limit on your number – also for subsequent billing periods.

WORLDWIDE ROAMING

Charges in non-EU countries are calculated according to the zones to which a given country belongs. A detailed list of countries and zones can be found in the price list.

Each time you log into a network abroad, you will receive an SMS with current service prices.

For roaming outside the EU, a data transmission spend limit also applies, to protect against unexpected costs.

The roaming charge limit is €50 for each phone number.

You will receive an SMS notification when:

  • – you reach 80% of the limit,
  • – the bill approaches 100% of the limit.

You can renew the limit by contacting us. The limit can be renewed once or disabled completely.

VOICEMAIL IN ROAMING

For customers using voicemail outside the EU, additional charges may apply.

The caller who is redirected to voicemail pays the same as for a regular call to you. You pay both for the received call and for the redirection to voicemail (treated as a call to Poland).

INTERNATIONAL CALLS

An international call is one where you make a call from Poland to a number with a prefix other than +48.

To make a call abroad, precede the foreign number with "+" or "00" and the country code of the country you are calling or sending an SMS to.

You can use international calls only while in Poland, at the rates from the price list.

Examples of billing:

  1. Calling a hotel in Portugal – you make an international call (number starts with a prefix other than +48).
  2. Calling a friend on vacation in Portugal on a Polish number with +48 prefix – you make a domestic call – no charges.
  3. You are in Poland and logged into the network. You receive a call from a number starting with a prefix other than +48 – no charges for receiving such a call. The international call cost is borne by the person making the call.

Network quality in roaming

The estimated maximum data transmission speed within the meaning of Regulation (EU) 2015/2120 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 November 2015 is 50 Mbps for downloads and 10 Mbps for uploads. The price list, contract or other operator regulations may specify a different estimated maximum speed.

The data exchange speed achievable at any given time is influenced by the following conditions:

  • –the data transmission technology currently used by the end user
  • –the current load of the transmitting station, the strength of the received signal (distance from the base station, signal attenuation by physical obstacles)
  • –the maximum speed, type of technology and radio bands (including the possibility of their aggregation)
  • –the end user device used and weather conditions
  • –the number, type, purpose and behaviour of simultaneously used application functionalities, services and devices (including applications that reduce transmission speed such as antivirus programs or firewalls)

Achieving the estimated maximum speed indicated in the regulations requires the use of LTE (or more advanced) data transmission technology and may not be possible outside the operator's own telecommunications infrastructure.

Due to the above factors, in many cases achieving the estimated maximum speed may not be possible.
